Libra seeks to find balance, harmony, beauty and connection with others. This Libra new Moon brings other significant energies that when combined with these basics of Libra, challenge us to go to places within us, around us, out into the beautiful depths of all that is and into the deepest beauty of the oceans. We’re being challenged to see the shadow and the light. The hope is that we discover the love, the oneness of everything and remember that no one is perfect, and everyone is human and a heart and soul.
There are many subtle compassion, forgiveness and harmony energies in this Moon cycle. We forgive because it allows us to heal and move forward with understanding, strength, and wisdom. Forgiveness frees us from the illusion of chains. Forgiveness allows us to create new foundations and bridges that allow everyone to exist in respect and harmony. The “other” in the situation may or may not ever seek forgiveness or even understand the pain they’ve caused. What matters is to release and find your own self – your own inner “soulmate” to feel and be your wholeness.
We feel compassion as a way to connect through empathy, but with boundaries and some kind of action that elevates our souls and allows our true spiritual gifts to express themselves. When we open ourselves to harmony, we feel the flow and move accordingly, with wisdom, love and present moment awareness. When we allow ourselves the beauty of forgiveness, compassion and harmony, we are living in sacred alignment with our Souls and the Divine Heart.
Forgiveness, harmony and compassion allow us to move through and past fear of “other” and fear of the “other” within ourselves. They help us realize that when we come together within ourselves and with one another with respect and love, we can create a world of great beauty and love.
This Moon cycle brings together the feminine and masculine through intuition and humanity. The specific astrology of this Moon is that of the unique and loving partnership between the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine, taking the earthly definitions of woman and man to a higher experience. A place where there is no gender, and where we’re no longer prisoners of hard, minimizing, limiting roles based on two types of illusionary 3rd dimensional assignments.
At the same time Venus, the ruler of Libra, is in Scorpio and is retrograde. Not only are we beginning a new way of relationship between the feminine and the masculine, but Venus in Scorpio retrograde calls for new levels of intimacy. Healthy intimacy requires trust. This retrograde will help us uncover where we have trust and intimacy issues. It will offer us ways to release those blocks if we’re willing to take the risk to heal.
This Moon cycle is also about the structures in our lives falling apart and how we must begin to rebuild. This is a good thing – what’s been in shadow too long, what’s based on fears and lies, what’s not in the best interests of all life is coming into the light. Because of the intensity and depth of destruction, the rebuilding and repair process will be slower than we might want it to be. Because of some of the more challenging aspects with this Moon cycle, slow is the best way to ensure we do the rebuilding and repair process with love, wisdom, wise vision, and in true, divine, loving partnership with one another.
As everything is evolving, so are the signs, planets, stars and Moons. The growth lesson for Libra energy with this Moon cycle is to own its boundaries, don’t avoid confrontation and healthy dialogue to “keep the peace”. We’re all learning now that peace can come to us in different forms. There can be the illusion of peace through the threat of violence, thereby keeping people afraid of speaking out and taking action. This kind of “peace” can be seen in the larger society as well as with relationships with one another and our relationship with our own self.
There can be peace through dialogue and natural human curiosity – learning about one another and finding points of common ground to build respect, community and a colorful tapestry of rich life together. This process of dialogue creates a flow of harmony.
Harmony, though, doesn’t mean the absence of conflict. It means the willingness to sit with the discomfort of listening to others with ears, minds and hearts open. It means being willing to be flexible, and give and take with love. Harmony is a winding, bumpy, interesting, challenging, hilly path we take together, helping one another, giving one another and ourselves the space to grow, and that includes our relationship with nature, too.
This Libra New Moon dancing with Venus retrograde in Scorpio teaches us that everything is love and everything is sacred – everything. Not just the beautiful, sweet things. Everything. Love everything. Including the dark in all of us, which has allowed itself to be painfully exposed to the light so healing, growth and deeper, more loving relationships can blossom and a new world can be created that embraces all life in love and equity. Hug the dying darkness and bless it on its way into the arms of the Divine Mother to rest, heal and be transformed into a more loving, wiser, compassionate energy. Blessed Be.
